ANGER
When I think of anger, I narrow it down to two categories: implosive and explosive.
People who are:
implosively angry hold things in and appear not to be easily angered.
They supress the things that upset them and usually keep quiet about their feelings.
Explosively angry people are the ones who react in the immediate moment that they're made upset. They may yell, curse, or even become violent towards the person or thing that made them angry.
In my experience the latter has been labeled as the inability to remain calm and is often frowned upon because it is seen as embarassing to those associated w/the person in question.
This is especially true for African American women because of the existing stereotype of the "loud black
